About Us

“Colene Clemens. That was my mother’s name, and it is the name of this winery, because everything we have built here is in honor of her legacy.” – Victoria Stark

Colene Clemens

My husband Joe and I founded Colene Clemens Vineyards as a dream we had long shared together.

From the beginning our intent was to honor my mother, Colene, and to create a place of lasting beauty that could be passed down to her family for generations to come. Colene was a very nurturing and loving mother; she was a lively spirit who loved to dance and sing and was always full of joy.

The idea was to produce single vineyard wines named after members of our family: Margo, Colene’s great-grand daughter, Adriane her grand-daughter and a limited bottling named after me. We’d also produce a small amount of a Pinot Noir named after my grandson, Max.

After years of searching, we found the perfect place; a rocky, brush covered abandoned old farmstead with all the elements necessary for a premier vineyard estate. A perfect south-facing piece of land with dramatic elevation changes and a diverse mix of soils that have proven ideal for growing world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

From the beginning, our commitment has been absolute: no compromise, no shortcuts. Our winemaker and vineyard manager, Steve Goff, shares that conviction fully — bringing to both the vineyard and the winery careful, non-invasive practices that respect the land and let the fruit speak for itself.

I personally invite you to join us at Colene Clemens and experience the exceptional beauty of our site, the views, the warmth and genuine hospitality that will greet you, and, of course, our unforgettable wines.

I am certain my mother would be more than thrilled to have such a beautiful winery bearing her name.
