The 2022 Dopp Creek opens with a bright, red-fruited nose, like a sun-warmed ripe raspberry. On the palate this wine is focused and bright, with a supple texture and soft tannins that showcase flavors of red fruit, a dash of warm spice, and hints of dark chocolate and coffee beans towards the finish. Drink now, or if you can wait, watch this wine age gorgeously over the next five years.
Chardonnay production at Colene Clemens began in 2013 with purchased fruit. We have since planted 6 acres on our estate, and 2019 marks the third vintage sourced entirely from our estate property. Over the course of 11 months in barrel, we strive to build texture, flavor, and body from the lees and barrel time, creating a wine that is supple and layered with firm underlying acidity.
